Michael Rownicki, Director of Business Development at Oxford Global Resources, has continuously grown with the company for the last 17 years. He is leading his Account Management teams in Germany with a motivation to help his clients succeed. Read on to learn more about Michael.
Q: What’s your role at Oxford?
In my role, I lead our dedicated Account Management teams in Germany who specialize in supporting Oxford’s international clients in providing talent and professional services across our core disciplines of Life Sciences, IT and Engineering.
Additionally, I strategically collaborate with our service delivery teams across Europe, orchestrating to support the evolving needs of our German and international clients.
In a significant milestone for Oxford, 2023 witnessed the establishment of our third German office in Düsseldorf. This addition complements our existing offices in Munich and Ibbenbüren, strategically positioning us to deliver highly skilled and educated talent that our clients lead us to achieve their business objectives.
Being positioned in Germany enables us to build a strong personal relationship with our clients, which is paramount in ensuring we can meet our client’s needs.
Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your role at Oxford?
The two aspects that are most rewarding for me are interconnected. Firstly, it’s seeing our clients accomplish their goals. Every day, we work hard to provide bespoke solutions to help solve our clients’ most intricate business challenges. Whether it’s assisting a pharmaceutical company in bringing new products to market or working with large multinationals to enhance their IT and Cloud Infrastructure, it’s rewarding to know that our efforts directly contribute to our client’s success.
The second most rewarding part of my role is being a part of a team that is so driven and dedicated to helping our clients and consultants succeed. This collaborative effort is a testament to our shared dedication to excellence and delivering the best possible solutions for new and existing clients.
Q: What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I’ve always thrived on challenges and embraced opportunities for continuous learning. When I joined Oxford almost 17 years ago, I didn’t anticipate this would be a long-term journey. However, within the initial months, it became evident that I had become part of a distinctive organization with a thriving culture (core values) and endless career opportunities for those ready to put in the effort.
Being a part of Oxford means I get to learn something new every day, and it’s this dynamic environment that has kept me engaged and enthusiastic throughout my career.
Q: What has been your favorite project/client you have worked on/for at Oxford?
I can honestly say there is not one project I have not enjoyed during my time at Oxford. I have been involved in hundreds of projects, and each had its ups and downs, but each project has given me the opportunity to learn and build my experience.
One of the more recent rewarding experiences was our work to support pharmaceutical and biotech companies in bringing the COVID-19 vaccine to market.
Q: What’s one thing you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
To focus on what I can control. This way, you can improve every day.
Q: What is your work motto or favorite quote on success?
“Everything is OK in the end! If it’s not OK, it’s not the end.”
Q: Who are you most inspired by?
I find inspiration in my surroundings: my family, colleagues, and bosses all have unique views on how best to work. Each situation I’m in, or project I work on provides me with opportunities to find inspiration.
