The Challenge
Oxford was contacted by a multinational energy company that was focused on sustainability efforts and striving to become a net-zero emissions company by 2050. They were investing in renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biofuels, carbon capture, and storage technology to reduce their carbon footprint. This organization was looking for a partner to provide a full-service program for lab technicians. They faced fluctuating project sizes, business reorientation, and a lack of internal bandwidth to recruit, train, and retain qualified resources.

The Solution
We collaborated with the client to create and implement a co-managed program wherein the client managed the day-to-day tasks and activities of the operation while Oxford provided oversight of its team from an employer perspective. For over four years, we maintained a specialized, scalable onsite team of 15 Lab Technicians that provided onsite support to the client’s existing lab teams. The team completed research and development activities, quality checks, and more. In addition, our Strategic Accounts Executive provided weekly on-site management support.

The Result
Oxford’s reliable workforce provided continuity for the client, allowing them to endure reorganizations and maintain functional control of their laboratory. We continually met established KPIs such as fulfillment time, retention time, and resource quality. In addition, the client experienced lowered costs, program flexibility, and improved retention of resources. They were able to continue to complete ongoing critical business needs despite being in a hiring freeze.
