The Challenge
To embark on a greenfield Workday™ implementation, an online graphics editor and prototyping tool provider required a Project Manager with 15-20 years of experience. As a startup, its internal team did not have this experience level, despite its rapid growth. Because of this, and because of Oxford Global Resources’ talent pool of senior-level individuals, they reached out to us to locate the right person for the job. Within two weeks, we sourced and onboarded a qualified Project Manager with experience in Workday.
The Solution
The Workday implementation included core Human Capital Management (HCM), advanced compensation, time tracking, Leave of Absence (LOA), benefits, and payroll. From security permissions to configuration work, the Project Manager oversaw the project and collaborated with Workday as the technical implementation partner, guided the client, and set them up for a successful go-live. In addition, she maintained open communication throughout so that each party understood their responsibilities and how best to proceed after her departure.
The Result
Because of her efforts, the client was able to push their go-live timeline forward four months ahead of schedule. The expected timeline was a full year, and they were able to complete all pre-launch activities within eight months. The client was pleased with the consultant’s open communication, organization, technical experience, and ability to fit in with the team. The knowledge transfer has enabled the client to proceed with their go-live and successfully continue with Workday as their primary HCM.
