The Challenge
A world leader in food, environmental, and pharmaceutical products testing embarked on a European wide migration from IPSec and MPLS to an SD-WAN VeloCloud™ solution, with the goal of deploying to additional sites in the United States and Asia at a later stage. Their aim was to improve their security, connection speeds, and bottom-line costs. However, they lacked the internal bench strength to complete the migration on their own, and the niche expertise required in a scenario like this was difficult for them to find. As a result, they chose to partner with Oxford Global Resources to connect them with the highest caliber of talent available and lead their project across the finish line.
The Solution
Oxford provided six external Senior Network Engineers with vast experience in large LAN/WAN network deployments and refreshes. The engineers were able to collaborate with the client’s technical staff and formulate a smooth deployment model for all sites in the scope – including 200 sites in Germany, France, Italy, UK and Spain. The engagement was expected to be completed by August of the following year. The team worked with the client from both onsite and remote environments to deploy new hardware, switches, cabling, and racks where necessary and supported technologies such as SD-WAN VeloCloud.
The consultants also assisted with the standardization of the infrastructure architecture across all operations, covering projects in technologies such as:
- TUFIN™
- Zscaler™
- PAM
- SIEM
- Active Directory™
The Result
The consultant team successfully deployed the new SD-WAN solution across the 200 sites by April – four months ahead of the original scheduled date. The team had initially set an aggressive timeline, yet they managed to surpass all expectations and deadlines. Additionally, the client was particularly impressed with the consultants’ communication, professionalism, and leadership qualities. Following the successful deployment to the European sites, Oxford continues to support this client as they migrate additional sites.
